History

Department of Applied Chemistry at Fooyin University was established in 1999. In 2008, the Department of Applied Chemistry was renaming as the Department of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science. Chemical industry is essential to both the traditional and high-tech industries. The goal of this department is to foster quality professional chemists. The teaching quality is approved internationally. The courses are practical and useful, combining professions and industries so that the students can have a balanced development in both academic or workplace fields.

The department has achieved exceptional performance in education, with a first-class rating in the Ministry of Education’s 2010 evaluation of technology universities. In addition, the department also passed the IEET’s[1] EAC[2] and TAC[3] certifications in 2009 and 2014, respectively. Meanwhile, the graduation certificates issued by the department have been widely acknowledged by member states, including European countries, the US, the UK, and Canada. This allows our graduates to directly apply for international professional certification and admissions to international schools with our certificates. The academic certification also benefits our graduates in the job market.
